Saturn Awards wrap up
Since we first got the word that four out of five Petrelli actors received a nomination in the Saturn Awards, I knew that House Petrelli had to attend to support our people and to cover the event. This was unprecedented. It wasn’t perfect—as perfect would be that Cristine Rose had received a nomination too—but it was unprecedented, as well as stupendous. While we have gotten quite a few interviews in the past, we hadn’t gotten the chance yet to attend an event as press. For this event, as we like to say in the House, Godsend was on our side. I sent an e-mail to the organizers explaining who we were and why we had to attend, and a week or so later, I see an e-mail indicating press information about the Saturns in my box! This will not be the last event we will be attending as press this Summer, either. You’ll be able to see House Petrelli in full force at Comic-Con! More information about that will be released later.
The Saturn Awards were held at the Castaway, a country club resort in the hills over-looking Burbank and West LA. This was no glitzy Hollywood affair, but very low-key. 20th Century Props had many set pieces on display in the courtyard and at the red carpet itself, including twin Academy Awards-like statues from Batman Forever.
Gracing the red carpet were some legends of Science Fiction and Fantasy films, including, Leonard Nimoy, JJ Abrams, Kevin Sorbo, Doug Jones, Billie Dee Williams, and Dean Devlin.
Come back later today to read what we encountered on the Red Carpet and to see lots of pictures. In the mean time, check out our photographer's report here.
